Supporting Children Through Family Changes

A new set of Child-Friendly Family Justice Resources has been introduced, featuring multimedia content such as videos to help children understand family justice processes in a way that is suitable for their age and level of understanding.

The resources are intended for children aged 8–12 who may be going through family changes, including separation or divorce, or whose parents are involved in the family courts process.

These child-focused family law resources form part of the wider reform of Ireland’s family justice system. They support a key objective of the Family Justice Strategy 2022–2025, which outlines a major programme of reform aimed at creating a system that places the needs and rights of children at its centre.
